In my opinion they should NOT be illegal. They are just a dog that has gotten a bad reputation because people are training them to be vicious, attack and fighting dogs. Or the owners are not informed owners on how to properly train a pit bull. Pit Bulls are actually illegal in many cities across the country. The Pit Bull has a strong pleasure to please. By no means are these dogs people-haters or people-eaters.
Their natural aggressive tendencies are toward other dogs and animals, not
people. However if they are properly socialized with a firm, but calm,
confident, consistent pack leader, they will not even be aggressive with them.
The American Pit Bull Terrier is a good-natured, amusing, extremely loyal and
affectionate family pet that is good with children and adults. Almost always
obedient, it is always eager to please its master. It is an extremely courageous
and intelligent guard dog that is very full of energy. Pit Bulls are just another dog and should not be banned or made illegal because of the bad reputation they have gotten because of the idiocy of some people.
